This page explains what data Calc and Measure collects, why, and how you can control it. We have kept it in plain language rather than dense legal text.

What This Site Does Not Do

Every calculator and converter on this site runs entirely in your browser. Values you type into a tool, like a date of birth, a bill amount, or a course grade, are never sent to a server, stored in a database, or seen by anyone else. There is no account system and nothing to sign up for.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for two purposes: to remember whether you have accepted or declined the cookie notice, and to support the advertising described below. Your browser lets you block or delete cookies at any time through its settings, though doing so may cause the cookie banner to reappear on your next visit.

Google AdSense

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this site and other sites, in order to make ads more relevant to you. You can learn more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services, and adjust your ad personalization settings, at Google's Ads and data page.

Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom are shown a consent banner that lets you choose whether to allow personalized advertising, in line with Google's certified consent requirements for those regions.

Advertising Cookies and Your Choices

Calc and Measure uses Google AdSense to show ads, and Google and other third party advertising vendors use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this site and to other sites across the web. This is sometimes called interest based or personalized advertising. It works by tracking browsing patterns at the browser or device level, not by identifying who you are.

This advertising data does not include personal identifiers such as your name, home address, or email address. Google's own explanation of how it and its partners handle data collected on sites like this one is available at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

If you would prefer not to see personalized ads, you can adjust your settings directly with Google at Google Ad Settings, or use the industry wide opt-out tool provided by the Digital Advertising Alliance at aboutads.info. Both let you opt out of interest based advertising across many participating sites and advertisers, not just this one.

You can also disable cookies entirely through your browser's settings, which applies to the cookies used for advertising as well as the ones this site uses to remember your cookie banner choice. Doing so may cause some site features, such as remembering that choice between visits, to stop working as expected.

Analytics

This site may use a privacy-conscious analytics tool to understand overall traffic, such as which pages are visited and roughly how many people visit, so the site can be improved. Any analytics used here does not identify you personally and is separate from the advertising cookies described above.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date at the top.
